INSIGHT

As a footwear brand that has shaped the culture of skateboarding, BMX, snowboarding, and beyond– Van's core audience and team riders throughout history have been nothing less than legendary. For this paid social and online video campaign, we tapped into a simple observation– Legends exist as much off the board as they do on. We tapped into a whole new market with Vans ComfyCush technology at the forefront representing Vans wearers who are far from pro but utilize the brand daily. So buckle up, legends, for the first time ever posers are welcome here.

The videos featured local community members often overlooked in the extreme sports community while highlighting how Vans ComfyCush shoes are their preferred choice during their legendary activities. These ComfyCushers for the campaign included various characters like The Tour Van Driver, The Skate Parent, The Gym Rat, The Filmer, and others who are loyal users of ComfyCush shoes.

We did some digging and found something pretty interesting - turns out, Vans is a footwear brand that's loved by all sorts of people beyond its usual core audience! From gym enthusiasts, to restaurant staff, barefoot runners, remote workers, and many more - it seems like everyone has a soft spot for these shoes.

An elevated healing experience

In support of Skate Shop Day, we created seeding kits to encourage UGC from local shops and sponsored pros to nominate legends they know.

These ComfyCush kits came with custom trophies made from ComfyCush shoe foam to accompany purchases of ComfyCush shoes at shop locations and events.
