FROM HUIMBLE BEGINNINGS TO MICHELIN STARS
French family owned company, Matfer Bourget has been a leader in the professional culinary industry for over 200 years. Their products are mainly for commercial kitchens, but Matfer reserves a selection of their high end cookware to sell to the at home enthusiast. We worked with them – and some incredible celebrity chefs – to highlight their newest carbon black steel pan to showcase its high performance, versatility, and durability. We shot some original commercials, made social posts and ad campaigns, and got to eat plenty of divine delectables.
Perfectly Rare
Made with high-quality carbon steel for maximum durability, this pan is ready to stand up to the job of high volume use. The pan heats quickly and distributes that heat evenly, with no hot spots. Whether you’re frying an egg or baking cornbread, this pan can take the heat, and what better way to showcase this perfectly even cook than with an A5 Japanese wagyu ribeye?
Chef’s Kiss
We worked with celebrity chefs, Amaury Guichon, Naomi Pomeroy, and Jon Harris to demonstrate the superiority of Matfer’s product. These guys showed us how it’s really done.
Mise En Place
Everything in it’s place! We helped launch Matfer’s microsites and stores by shooting and producing all videos, promotions and product photography for the Black Steel Pan making a buzz in the culinary scene and even awarding Matfer a Test Kitchen award!
Step 1
First, clean the pan of any coating thoroughly. Then add the peels of two potatoes.
Step 2
Now add 2/3 cup of oil. Any neutral oil (canola, vegetable, grapeseed oil) will work fine.
Step 3
Add 2/3 cup of salt (table salt is fine) to the pan. Make sure to coat the peels thoroughly.
Step 4
Now you can begin sautéing the mixture on medium high heat for fifteen minutes.
Step 5
Continue to stir until the pan becomes golden brown as the oil bonds to the surface.
Step 6
Once the potato peels are crisp, discard and wipe your pan with a kitchen towel.
On Deck
We supported the launch with how to’s, social videos, product and plating photography, and a digital ad campaign.
